Senior National Account Manager

We’re looking for a Senior National Account Manager to join our high-performing sales team and take ownership of key national customer relationships. This is a high-profile commercial role where you’ll shape and deliver customer strategy, own account P&L, lead Joint Business Planning, and drive sustainable growth across both branded and own-label portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the commercial strategy for major UK retail accounts, leading the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process and delivering volume, value and margin targets. - Own and execute customer strategies, ensuring strong alignment on forecasts, promotional activity and long-term growth plans. - Partner closely with supply chain and internal teams to deliver accurate forecasting, promotional modelling and flawless execution. - Shape range, distribution and promotional strategies, influencing shelf-space, pack architecture, NPD and private-label growth. - Translate insight into action by analysing EPOS data, category trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and drive performance. - Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, category teams, operations, supply chain and finance, acting as the voice of the customer internally. - Manage and track investment budgets, invoices and claims with precision and accuracy. - Coach and develop team members where applicable, supporting high performance and progression. - Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and relevant retail and industry standards.
About You
- Proven experience in a Senior National Account Manager or National Account Manager role within FMCG or large-scale retail, ideally UK grocery. - Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering customer growth in complex, fast-paced environments. - Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, confident operating at senior buyer level. - Data and insight driven, with strong capability in EPOS, category analysis, forecasting and turning insight into action. - Experience across both branded and own-label portfolios is highly desirable. - A clear communicator and confident presenter, able to lead meetings and deliver compelling strategic plans. - Technically proficient, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. - Leadership experience, either formally or informally, is an advantage.
