FULL DESCRIPTION

IT Technical Operations - London

Location: City of London | on site - Monday to Friday

Salary: £30,000 to £55,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining on site and off site servers
  • Monitoring and supporting in house software applications
  • Administering Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Managing and troubleshooting storage systems including NAS and iSCSI
  • Providing expert support across the Microsoft Windows environment
  • Applying strong problem solving techniques including working with the OSI model, DHCP scopes, and network addressing
  • Troubleshooting connectivity issues such as resolving a PC with no internet access
  • Supporting virtual environments and understanding virtual machine layers

Technical Experience:

  • System administration within a Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • Group Policy management and configuration
  • Virtualisation technologies, ideally Hyper V
  • Experience managing storage systems including NAS and iSCSI
  • Strong hardware knowledge including building or configuring custom machines
  • Understanding of PC components, RAM compatibility, CPU Secure Boot, and common troubleshooting scenarios
  • Knowledge of CPU generations for Intel and AMD
  • Strong understanding of data size conversions and subnetting fundamentals, including byte and bit conversion and IP allocation
  • Scripting using tools such as PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, and general web technologies
  • Exposure to Juniper networking is advantageous
  • A collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for working in a high performance technical environment
  • Strong numerate or analytical degree as Computer Science, Engineering , Mathematics , Physics, or a closely related subject, or equivalent practical experience
