As a BIM Technician, you will be an integral part of a young and dynamic design team, working on some of the most exciting and complex projects throughout the UK and worldwide. Your role will require you to produce both models and drawings for highways and drainage, coordinate effectively with other design team members, and contribute to the development of the CAD library details.
The position.
As a BIM Technician, you will be an integral part of a young and dynamic design team, working on some of the most exciting and complex projects throughout the UK and worldwide. Your role will require you to produce both models and drawings for highways and drainage, coordinate effectively with other design team members, and contribute to the development of the CAD library details.
The role and responsibilities.
- Producing and managing project deliverables, primarily—but not exclusively—drawings and models created using Civils 3D
- Ensuring all deliverables comply with the project BEP and [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk]’s internal standards
- Managing your time effectively to ensure the client’s programme for data release is met in an organised and timely manner
- Coordinating with other members of the design team—primarily the structures team—to ensure civil and structural models are aligned and regularly updated
- Managing internal and incoming drawing files and models using [Employer hidden]’s document management and filing systems, and distributing relevant information to the appropriate members of the design team
- Uploading drawings and models to the client’s intranet and common data environments where required
- Completing day‑to‑day administrative tasks to support the wider team
Required skills.
- A strong understanding of the built environment
- Ability to create high quality drawings and models using Civils 3D
- Able to work to deadlines in an organised, methodical manner, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Qualifications and experience.
- Qualifications in STEM subjects preferred
- A good degree or HND/HNC in Construction & Built Environment desirable
- Previous experience working in the built environment specialising in highways or drainage—both would be an advantage
- Demonstrate either a working knowledge of or understanding of the relevant highways and drainage standards
