We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer IT Support person to join our volunteer staff team. This role involves supporting and developing our IT infrastructure to enhance staff efficiency, internal operations, and external communications. The ideal candidate will work closely with church leadership and staff to ensure our IT systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with the church’s mission.

Role Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer IT Support person to join our volunteer staff team. This role involves supporting and developing our IT infrastructure to enhance staff efficiency, internal operations, and external communications. The ideal candidate will work closely with church leadership and staff to ensure our IT systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with the church’s mission.

Specific Tasks:
• Maintain and troubleshoot IT systems, including networks, servers, and software.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new IT solutions to improve internal and external communication.
• Provide technical support to staff and volunteers, including setting up hardware and software.
• Regularly update and manage the church website and any other digital platforms.
• Ensure data security and manage backups.
• Train staff on the effective use of IT tools and systems.

Person Specification:
The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and eager to use their skills to support our church’s mission. They should be a proactive problem-solver with a heart for service, able to work independently and collaboratively within a faith-based environment.

Key Skills, Attributes, and/or Experience:
• Experience in IT support, including network administration, hardware/software maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of web development and content management systems.
• Strong understanding of data security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
• Ability to train and support non-technical users.
• Alignment with the values and mission of our church.

Time Commitment:
We ask for a commitment of approximately 2-4 hours per week, with flexibility around your availability. This role may occasionally require additional hours during special projects or events.
