Additional Needs Co-ordinator
This role involves oversight of additional needs work in [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] locations as part of the NextGen staff team. Specific tasks include oversight of volunteer teams, training, recruiting and managing, co-ordinating parent/carer liaison, creating and managing resources, oversight and delivery of Voyagers, and supporting transitions.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Accountable to the NextGen Pastor, this role involves oversight of additional needs work in [Employer hidden] locations as part of the NextGen staff team.
Specific Tasks
Oversight of volunteer teams, training, recruiting and managing in collaboration with the NextGen staff team.
Co-ordinating parent/carer liaison – setting up meetings, following up forms and creating information passports.
Creating and managing resources to support existing kids & youth programmes.
Oversight and delivery of Voyagers.
Working with adult pastoral team to develop holistic support approaches for families and adults with additional needs.
Supporting transitions through all ages and phases of church.
Person Specification
Someone who is passionate about inclusion of children and young people with additional needs into church life.
Someone who can keep information heard in confidence.
Active member of [Employer hidden] and committed to our vision and values.
Key skills, attributes and/or experience
Essential:
Experience in the additional needs sector.
Leadership.
Good communicator especially to parents.
Able to delegate and co-ordinate.
Organised.
Desirable:
Able to work well under pressure.
Able to inspire others to give their best.
Available at short notice.
Time CommitmentSundays 9am-1pm
Some office time during the week.
Wednesday evenings 5:30-7:30pm.
