Responsibilities include chasing rent arrears, processing banking, and maintaining financial records. Role: Property Management Credit Controller Location: East London Proper Recruitment are delighted to be working with an established independent estate agency based in East London, renowned for their professional yet personable approach to property management. They take pride in delivering a high-quality service to both landlords and tenants, with a strong emphasis on communication, efficiency, and attention to detail. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Property Management Credit Controller to join their busy Property Management department. Responsibilities: Chase current rent arrears, communicating directly with tenants and managing potential rental insurance claims. Pursue historic arrears, including initiating court money claims and liaising with enforcement services to recover outstanding debts. Process daily banking, ensuring rent payments are accurately entered onto the system. Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records. Oversee rent payments and process rent guarantee payment batches twice monthly. Collaborate closely with the Property Management team to ensure smooth financial operations. (Desirable) Assist with Universal Credit Direct Payment claims, including managing UC journals. Requirements: Proven experience in credit control, accounts, or rent collection (ideally within property or lettings). Excellent numerical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail. Confident communicator with the ability to manage sensitive tenant conversations professionally. Proficient with property management or accounting systems (e.g. Qube, CFP, Reapit, or similar). Organised, deadline-driven, and proactive in problem solving. (Desirable) Understanding of Universal Credit processes and Direct Payment claims.
