Operator Apprentice

What you’ll do:
The Operator Apprentice will learn to safely and efficiently operate various machinery and equipment in our manufacturing facility. This apprenticeship offers hands-on training and mentorship, preparing for a successful career as a skilled operator. During the program you will gain and develop skills covering a wide range of manufacturing aspects. This role will be very hands on, with the majority of your time spent within our new cleanroom environment.
- Learn how to process material to the required production plan, quality standards and to the applied standard operating procedures
- Learn and adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist experienced operators in setting up, operating, and monitoring machinery.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or production issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Maintains the integrity of lots while processing material, utilizing MES and appropriate documentation.
- Communicates verbally and electronically with other operators within their respective area(s) between shifts (where appropriate) to ensure all necessary information is passed down and documented.
- Participate in all required training and educational programs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process.
Key knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent manual dexterity, able to manipulate very small parts with tweezers and other instruments
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate with ability to interact with Microsoft or Google office applications and basic data entry
You will be working in a cleanroom facility, this is a highly controlled, enclosed environment designed to maintain extremely low levels of airborne contaminants like dust. Please do some research about cleanroom facilities as part of your application process.

Minimum Qualifications:
- GCSE in Maths, English, Science, Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent): Maths, English and a Science/Technology subject (If you have received educational qualifications outside of the UK then we will require a Statement of Comparability to confirm your eligibility for the scheme)
- You must have the right to work in the UK and meet the eligibility criteria for UK government-funded apprenticeships, including residency requirements (normally 3 years’ ordinary residence in the UK, EEA or a relevant territory prior to the start of the programme
- You must not be enrolled on another UK government-funded education or training programme at the time of starting the apprenticeship.
