Role: National Account Manager – B2C Retail
Location: UK (Hybrid / UK, EU & US remit)
We are looking for a senior, commercially sharp National Account Manager to build and scale [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Group’s B2C retail channel across the UK, Europe and the US. This is a newly created, standalone role with a clear mandate: win national retail listings, drive sell-through, and grow long-term, profitable partnerships across high-value B2C retail accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
National B2C Retail Strategy & Growth:
- Own and deliver the national B2C retail sales strategy, fully aligned with [Employer hidden] Group’s commercial and growth objectives.
- Define target retail segments, priority accounts, and route-to-market strategies across the UK, with scope to expand into EU and US markets.
- Build a clear pipeline of high-potential national retail partners and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
New Business Development & Listings:
- Identify, target, and win national retail partnerships across DIY, lifestyle, discount, grocery, and electrical sectors.
- Lead all aspects of new business development, from market mapping and prospecting through to pitch, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Develop compelling proposals, range strategies, and commercial models that secure listings and set accounts up for long-term success.
Account Ownership & Commercial Execution:
- Own the full commercial relationship with retail partners, managing pricing, margins, promotions, and growth plans.
- Drive distribution growth, range expansion, and promotional effectiveness to maximise sell-through and profitability.
- Build strong senior-level relationships across buying, category, commercial, and supply chain functions within retail partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery:
- Work closely with marketing, operations, supply chain, and product teams to deliver seamless, commercially aligned retail launches.
- Ensure retail partners receive best-in-class execution, from availability and forecasting to promotional planning and performance tracking.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, performance reporting, and pipeline visibility to support decision-making and investment prioritisation.
International Expansion:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to extend B2C retail partnerships into EU and US markets.
- Adapt propositions, pricing, and commercial structures to suit different international retail environments and customer expectations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Significant experience in a senior National Account Manager or Key Account Manager role within B2C retail.
- Proven track record of winning listings and driving growth with major UK retail accounts.
- Deep understanding of multichannel retail environments and how to drive sell-through in-store and online.
- Strong experience across DIY, lifestyle, discount, grocery, and electrical retail sectors.
- Highly commercial, with demonstrable success in negotiation, pricing and margin modelling, and business case development.
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a standalone role, building structure, strategy, and pace from the ground up.
- Experience working with trade and wholesale customers such as Screwfix, Travis Perkins, builders’ merchants, or similar is advantageous.
- Exposure to EU and or US retail markets, or experience scaling new channels, is highly desirable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong results orientation and a bias towards action.
