We export primarily in containers from countries around the world to various international destinations. This is a full-time, on-site role for an Operations Executive at our office in Bromley. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the following areas:
- Communicating with customers
- Preparing and processing trade documents
- Performing basic data entry and bookkeeping tasks in the company systems
The Operations Manager will support the following strategic objectives of the company:
- To improve efficiencies and automations such that the company can handle a larger volume of business without the requirement for additional staff
- To establish and operate systems and processes for the administration of the business such that the business volumes can be easily scaled up
- To enable the business to act as an outsourced administration hub for trades done by other trading companies
- Shipment execution, i.e. booking of containers and follow-up vessel updates to ensure timely shipment in line with the latest shipment date agreed in the contract and LC
- Monitoring and managing warehouse stock positions
- Organising loading and inspection of material
- Bookkeeping
- Submitting payments under bank facility for payments and keeping track of exposure under bank facility
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools are essential. Sound knowledge of Excel is essential, along with good knowledge of other MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.). A proactive approach with strong leadership qualities and a focus on continuous improvement is required.
