THE JOB
[Employer hidden] is looking to add a Junior/Mid level Fully Qualified ACCA/ACA Accountant with at least 24 months UK experience within a practice (candidates without full ACA/ACCA.
The candidate must have a strong interest in the technology and automation sectors and be willing to work in a tech start-up environment. The candidate must be willing to be part of a team that creates tools and products to automate the way entrepreneurs and SMEs deal with their business accounting.
The candidate will be working between both [Employer hidden]' internal records (i.e. in-house book-keeping, VAT returns and Payroll bank reconciliations and preparation of management accounts, maintenance of aged creditors and debtors' reports) and will be solely responsible for the in-house billing process as well working for external clients.
50% of the qualified accountant time will be dedicated to [Employer hidden] Ltd own accounting; the other 50% of his/her time will be dedicated to performing accounting for a portfolio of UK SMEs. This includes:
- The completion of year-end accounts, CT600, and Corporation Tax computations
- Completion of Self-Assessment Tax Returns
- Management of your client’s payroll and VAT returns
- Meet client’s statutory deadlines, such as VAT returns, Statutory Accounts, Company and Self-Assessment Tax Returns
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Advise clients in relation to IR35 and the associated implications of this legislation
- Research and consulting activities related to the implementation of automation tools to help manage client portfolio.
- Taking on and managing new clients
- Building relationships with clients and gain referrals from them to help grow the business
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and an attention to details
- Minimum of 24 months' experience within an UK accountancy practice
- Previously been responsible for managing a portfolio of clients
- ACCA/ACA fully qualified accountant
- Must be highly competent in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of various accounting software (IRIS, XERO, QuickBooks, etc)
- Knowledge of investment properties, buy to lets, flat management companies, a plus
