[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking an experienced and passionate Lecturer in Physiology to join our growing academic team. If you're dedicated to student success, thrive in a face to face teaching environment, and want to shape the next generation of sport leaders, we want to hear from you!

About Us

[Employer hidden] is a leading independent higher education provider, offering flexible and inclusive learning across multiple London campuses. We are student-focused, digitally forward, and committed to academic excellence — reflected in our 90% student satisfaction rating (NSS 2025).

The Role

As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering engaging teaching across a range of Exercise Physiologist and Nutrition modules. You'll support students on campus, contribute to assessment and quality assurance, and be involved in scholarship and continuous curriculum improvement.

We are seeking an Exercise Physiologist with the confidence and expertise to lead Level 5 and Level 6 physiology modules. The successful candidate will deliver a suite of engaging laboratory practicals, including skinfold assessments, CPET (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing), and blood lactate sampling—and demonstrate the application of these methodologies to core physiological concepts.

The role requires a versatile practitioner capable of translating theory into practice across both high-performance sport and clinical populations. Furthermore, a background or additional expertise in Sport Nutrition would be highly advantageous, fostering interdisciplinary synergy and strengthening the broader curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in line with curriculum standards
  • Develop and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms
  • Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and exams
  • Support students academically and pastorally, including those with learning support needs
  • Engage with quality assurance processes, contribute to module and programme evaluations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers where applicable

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant sport-related field
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education, with strong digital teaching capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HE quality assurance and validation processes
  • A flexible, student-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work towards HEA Fellowship (if not already held)

Desirable:

  • PhD (or near completion) or equivalent industry experience
  • Research or enterprise activity involvement
  • Teaching qualification
  • Experience leading modules or academic teams

What We Offer

  • A diverse and inclusive academic environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and progression
  • Involvement in curriculum innovation and scholarship
  • Supportive leadership and collegiate team culture

Working Hours & Flexibility

  • 40 hours per week (schedule may include evenings and weekends)
  • Must be flexible to travel between our Central London Campuses
