National Account Manager
We are looking for a National Account Manager to be responsible for overseeing sales and managing relationships with a key UK customer, working across multiple beauty categories. The perfect candidate for this role will be innovative, analytical and have fantastic attention to detail, whilst also having a really creative mind and approach to problem solving. Some experience in the beauty industry would be great, and we’ll need to see proven experience of account management.
What you’ll do:
- Wholly manage the account including (but not limited to) timelines, retailer expectations, newness in coordination with global launches, sales, spend, and promotional cadence
- Day to day contact to respond to any ad hoc requests and issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business account
- Plan, develop and implement an annual Joint Business plan with the customer for each brand and category within the remit
- Design an annual marketing and promotional programme for each brand, co-ordinating with internal Brand, Social and PR stakeholders to amplify key periods
- In alignment with the Merchandising and Trade Marketing team, agree monthly marketing support packages, secondary site opportunities and online support.
- Identify appropriate NPD opportunities based on customer insights and oversee the end-to-end implementation from presenting to the buyer and agreeing forecasts, to tracking delivery, launch planning and implementation.
- Analyse EPOS Sales data and present at internal weekly meetings
- Review NPD and promotional activity to maximise learnings and share with the business
- Complete relevant promotional and new line form administration
- Negotiate promotions, cost prices and launches
- Agree all new listings with buyers
- Engage in the preparation and participation of status & business planning meetings both with the account and internal teams
- Create Gross and Net financial forecasts for the account and report performance weekly to Head of Sales, identifying upsides and proactively addressing any short falls
- Design and manage a Trade Investment plan to drive sales whilst maximising profitability
- Approve invoices and prepare accurate financial accruals
- Work collaboratively with Merchandising to align financial forecast to unit demand and proactively submit in line with the business-critical path
- Use the retailer stock systems to ensure consistency with internal data and monitor overstocks/possible returns
- Identify opportunities to increase retail sales, gross sales, optimise processes and increase efficiencies
- Responsible for being part of a team that achieves (and exceeds) sales targets, profit expectations, and customer objectives
What you’ll have:
- Experience in a National Account Manager role, or a very established Executive, with experience in manging accounts
- Experience in the beauty industry is desirable but not essential
- High proficiency in Excel
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Great analytical skills
- You’ll be happy to get stuck in and hit the ground running
