Business Systems Analyst
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analysing business processes, financial systems, and operational requirements, and translating them into effective IT and digital solutions. The role acts as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure systems support organisational goals, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing business processes, financial workflows, and information systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Gather, document, and validate business and system requirements from internal stakeholders and clients
- Translate business, accounting, and financial requirements into functional system specifications for IT teams
- Work closely with developers, database administrators, and IT operations teams to support system design, implementation, and enhancements
- Support the development and optimisation of business systems including ERP, CRM, accounting, and data management platforms
- Conduct impact analysis for system changes and ensure alignment with business strategy and financial objectives
- Assist in system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support management decision-making
- Ensure systems comply with internal controls, data protection standards, and relevant financial and regulatory requirements
- Provide ongoing system support, documentation, and user guidance to improve system adoption and efficiency
- Collaborate on IT projects, contributing to planning, budgeting, risk assessment, and delivery timelines
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of business operations, economics, accounting, and financial processes
- Ability to analyse complex data and systems and present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working with business systems, databases, and data analysis tools
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively to cross-functional projects
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience working in an IT-driven or technology-focused business environment
- Knowledge of business systems analysis, process mapping, and requirements documentation
- Familiarity with financial reporting, business intelligence, or enterprise systems is desirable
