Spring is our busiest and most exciting season – and we’re looking for extra hands to help us meet increased demand.
The Opportunity
We are hiring 2-3 Seasonal Garden Centre Assistants to support our outdoor plant and gardening team during our peak spring period.
This is a physically active, outdoor role, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being part of a busy team, and helping customers.
You’ll mainly be based in Nunhead, with occasional support needed at our Camberwell and Elephant stores.
Contract runs from early March to mid-June, with potential to extend for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- • Providing warm, friendly and helpful customer service
- • Receiving, unloading and processing deliveries (plants, compost, pots etc.)
- • Assisting customers with plants, compost, pots and gardening queries
- • Replenishing stock and maintaining attractive outdoor displays
- • Plant care including watering and general upkeep
- • Supporting occasional plant installation projects
- • Working safely and efficiently as part of a team

- • Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and outdoor work
- • Positive, upbeat and customer-focused
- • Reliable, hardworking and able to work at a fast pace
- • Team player with flexibility to take on varied tasks
- • Plant knowledge is a bonus, but not essential – training provided
Working Pattern
- • Weekend and Bank Holiday availability required
- • Full-time or part-time options available
