ROLE PURPOSE

The Restoration Technician plays a key role in restoring homes affected by fire or flood, ensuring customers can safely return to their properties as quickly and confidently as possible. The role focuses on delivering high-quality mitigation, restoration, and customer care that supports insurer expectations and provides a smooth, reassuring experience for affected homeowners.

Job Description

  • Accurate and Insightful Damage Assessment:
    Assess the extent and type of fire or water damage to enable clear, accurate restoration decisions.
  • Efficient and Effective Restoration Planning:
    Develop and deliver safe and practical restoration plans to ensure a smooth and prompt handover to reinstatement team.
  • High-Standard Water and Fire Mitigation:
    Perform mitigation tasks such as water extraction, wet and contaminated material strip-out, soot decontamination, and drying equipment setup.
  • Clean, Safe, and Habitable Environments:
    Complete decontamination, sanitising, deodorising, and debris removal to restore safe conditions of properties.
  • Clear, Accurate Documentation:
    Maintain a detailed log of works completed including recording accurate moisture readings, update insurance systems, produce floorplans, and support claim processes.
  • Positive and Supportive Customer Experience:
    Communicate clearly with customers, adjusters, and colleagues, providing reassurance and updates.
  • Consistent Safety and Compliance Adherence:
    Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements for Role

  • Knowledge of construction, building materials, restoration techniques (Fire & Water), and drying equipment.
  • Ability to assess on-site challenges and identify effective restoration solutions.
  • Ability to explain technical processes clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ensures accuracy in assessments, cleaning, repairs, and documentation.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet restoration timelines.
  • Provides empathetic, professional support to customers affected by property damage.
  • Understands and consistently applies safe working practices and PPE guidelines.
  • Experience using insurance claim systems for recording information, floorplans, and costings (beneficial).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BDMA and/or IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT, etc.) – (Desirable)
  • Valid driver’s license
