Senior Carer

Responsibilities:

• To build strong and meaningful relationships with the residents and assist them with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to help them maintain and improve, where possible, their independence, individuality and mobility.
• Assistance with ADLs includes, but is not limited to: Bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, participating in meaningful and purposeful daily activities, empowering resident choice, desire and preference where possible.
• Serve as the Key Worker for a small number of residents within the home. Establishing a very detailed and focused relationship with the residents and their family members/friends/other key visitors/other staff members, so as to serve as a point of contact and reference for all parties involved.
• Key workers should be able to coach other staff members on the specific preferences and routines that a resident may have and should also contribute to the resident’s regularly scheduled care plan reviews.
• Help host our residents and their visitors.
• To provide beverages for the residents and their visitors.
• To answer the telephone and either forward calls or take messages in a capable and professional manner.
• To attend training and educational sessions as required. This will ensure your skill set is up to date and that your confidence remains high while delivering care to the residents.
