We are seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a stable, close-knit workshop team maintaining a high-value fleet of specialist vans. We are seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a stable, close-knit workshop team maintaining a high-value fleet of specialist vans.

This is a workshop-based, permanent role offering consistency, quality work, and a strong work/life balance - no shifts, no nights, no weekends as standard.

The Role

You’ll be part of an established maintenance team responsible for ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest DVSA and company standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Vehicle servicing in line with company policy
  • Periodic Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
  • MOT preparation and presentation
  • Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis
  • Accurate completion of inspection reports and records
  • Supporting roadside breakdowns when required
  • Maintaining safe, tidy workshop practices

You may also assist with light commercial vehicles as workload allows.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in HGV or PSV maintenance
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
  • Strong understanding of DVSA compliance
  • Confident with mechanical and basic electrical systems
  • Able to work unsupervised and take ownership

Desirable (but not essential):

  • PSV licence
  • Welding experience
  • Fleet or coach operator background
