Deputy Care Manager

Responsibilities include ensuring high-quality, person-centred care, managing operations, and supervising staff. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and passionate about delivering first-class care, with a Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a minimum of 2 years of team management experience within a care home setting.

[Employer hidden] was our first Care Home and has been open to residents for over 40 years. It has a lovely homely feel and over the years has gained an excellent reputation for being one of the best care provisions for residents with Dementia.
[Employer hidden] is located in an ideal position within Southport on Queens Road; only minutes away from local amenities, Hesketh Park, and a short walk away from the town centre, train station and the famous shopping area of Lord Street and the sea front.
The Role
At [Employer hidden], we are searching for a Deputy Manager to join our team. You will be responsible to the Registered Manager for the day-to-day running of the home, working closely with the Management Team across the Group to provide a high standard of care.
As Deputy Manager you will be:
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is provided to all residents
- Accountable for the homes governance, operations and activities, ensuring that we comply with the regulatory bodies
- Making sure all legal, regulatory and contractual standards are met and exceeded
- Ensuring that all policies, procedures and systems are in place
- Ensuring all staff have the skills and competencies required to provide a developmental focus for the home
- Providing effective supervision and support to the Team
- Taking responsibility and providing input for the recruitment, appointment and deployment of all staff, liaising with HR and the Recruitment department
- Ensuring that the home is appropriately represented and working effectively with local service providers
- Developing an ethos that reflects our understanding of each individuals rights, opinions and beliefs, in a safe and dementia friendly environment
- Acting as an ambassador for the home, ensuring strong communication channels are established
- Managing staff in accordance with policies and procedures
- Managing the occupancy levels of the home which will involve networking, advertising and building relationships with other professionals
- Providing staff cover in accordance with the requirements of the Registered Manager
- Liaising with multi disciplinary teams, residents and families
- Responsible for ensuring that effective referral protocols and practices are in place and adhered to
- Maintaining a safe environment for residents, responding to all health & safety requirements

Qualifications
- For this role you must have a Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
Experience
For this role it is essential that you have:
- A minimum of 2 years managing a team, within a care home setting
- Relevant experience supervising staff and coordinating support provisions
- Experience working with people aged 65 and above
- Specialist knowledge of the latest care standards & legislation
For this role it is desirable that you have:
- Experience working with residents living with dementia

Conditions apply
*Pay will be negotiable dependant on age, experience and qualifications. Your hourly rate will be reviewed again on the successful completion of your 6 month probationary period.
