Veraison is Berkmann’s cutting-edge training programme, specialising in wine education for the on-trade. With our unique, in-house training modules, we believe we are the market leader, utilising the most up to date behavioural science, and offering the most effective and inclusive wine training in the country. We are also an Approved Programme Provider for WSET courses, so a certified educator for at least L2 is preferable.

As our Wine Educator – North, you’ll lead engaging, tailored training sessions that inspire hospitality teams, while playing a key role in shaping and evolving our curriculum. Reporting to the Wine Training Manager, you’ll be based across the North of the UK—with occasional time in our London office—being the face of Veraison by bringing wine education to life, driving sales, and making wine feel accessible, relevant, and exciting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for key on-trade accounts across the Northern region, developing and delivering tailored training programs that elevate product knowledge, enhance service standards, and drive measurable sales growth
  • Work closely with the sales team to assess and advise on the required training for each customer based on business needs
  • Communicate directly with trade customers to organise training sessions
  • Track delivered wine training sessions and report on training ROI
  • Collaborate closely with the Wine Training Manager to develop and deliver engaging, high-impact social media content that elevates Veraison’s brand presence
  • Champion and articulate Veraison both internally and externally
  • Support the Marketing Team with tastings and trade events

What We Are Looking For

  • Passionate about education and customer engagement, with an ability to inspire, self-starting and positive attitude as customer facing on a daily basis
  • A confident and engaging communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the gravitas to present
  • Experience of making wine theory more approachable for a target audience with limited wine knowledge
  • Experience of working with hospitality businesses is desirable
  • You hold at least WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and, preferably, you’re a certified WSET Course Educator.
  • Evidence of being a strong team player – the successful candidate will be working within a small team of educators and must also develop strong relationships with the commercial team
  • Numerate, literate and with a strong attention to detail
  • Holder of a full UK driving licence and willing to travel on a regular basis around the UK

Working Pattern

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:30pm. However, given the nature of our clients in the hospitality sector, flexibility is essential — evening and occasional weekend work will be required to support customer needs, events, and tastings.

Work Location

This is a field-based role travelling to customer venues across to UK, spending some time working from our Head Office in London (EC1R) and the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
