Senior Heritage Consultant
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Heritage Consultant with experience of delivering technical heritage advice, a broad range of written assessments and project management, to join our expanding team within an ambitious business. The team's success has been built on helping clients deliver sustainably and implementable schemes on complex sites across multiple sectors. The Heritage Team is based in Leeds but has a national remit. We would welcome applicants with the right experience, to work from one of our other offices such as Manchester, Nottingham, or Birmingham, as we expand amid continuous growth within [Employer hidden].
You will be:
- Directly supporting clients on projects throughout the UK as required;
- Providing heritage or archaeological services during all aspects of the project cycle;
- Preparing fee proposals and tenders and exploring new business opportunities.
- Managing projects, and taking the role of heritage lead to deliver heritage or archaeological projects according to your experience from appointment until completion;
- Producing a range high quality written deliverable and technical assessments and specifications to industry standard guidance.
- Providing consultancy advice to internal and external Clients and stakeholders;
- Quality assurance of other consultants written work by providing proactive and constructive feedback from a technical perspective.
- Provide mentoring as opportunities arise;
- Dealing directly with sub-contractors, clients and stakeholders.
- Developing fieldwork and mitigation strategies, managing the process from its implementation, including sub-contractor supervision, site meetings, through to completion;
- Managing multiple projects with concurrent deadlines and competing demands;
- Communicating effectively and working collaboratively as part of a team, but with a degree of autonomy as expected for a Senior role;
- Delivering high-quality service to Clients, with a focus on cost-effective and innovative solutions; and
- Project management including financial responsibility for forecasting fees.
As a Senior Heritage Consultant within a busy and rapidly growing discipline of the business, you will be in a position, and actively encouraged, to influence the development and direction of a quality focussed service. Applicants will be able to work with a degree of autonomy and will be responsible for the completion of their various projects. As an experienced Heritage Consultant, you should have experience of delivering a range of technical heritage assessments and be familiar with the EIA process. You will have previous experience of managing multiple projects with concurrent deadlines and competing demands and experience developing and implementing mitigation methodologies, including sub-contractor supervision, through to completion.
To succeed in this role, you must be a driven individual with experience in contributing to the successful completion of heritage led projects. You will be well organised and able to prioritise your own workload with support from colleagues. You should be an excellent communicator who can work dynamically across different teams and offices.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualification in a heritage or archaeological related subject.
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills, with a strong focus on client care.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time with a strong focus on client care.
- Experience in the production of a wide variety of heritage reports and assessments, appraisals, specifications, written schemes of investigation and chapters for Environmental Statements.
- A good overall level of knowledge of heritage or archaeological within a planning background.
- Experience in using GIS or QGIS.
- Willingness to travel and a full driving license are essential.
