FULL DESCRIPTION

Help [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] feed those in need (East London)

Volunteers are the life and soul of all we do at [Employer hidden]: the packers, the stackers, the sorters, and the porters. We couldn’t do what we do without the support from amazing people like you! We need volunteers to help us in our warehouse with: • unloading deliveries • creating mixed trays of food • quality control: checking and grading fresh food • helping to load vans • daily warehouse tasks *Due to the nature of our operation, current roles all require standing, walking, and lifting. Manual handling training is provided, and staff will be on hand to support you. Every volunteering experience with [Employer hidden] will be different, depending on which amazing deliveries of food we will have received that day. Roles assigned will depend on the time of day and where the need is greatest.

What difference you will make

Your contribution will have a direct social and environmental impact: preventing harmful greenhouse gas emissions from food waste and getting nutritious surplus food to people who need it most. On top of this, we have worked out through our calculator called EQUALS (find it on our website!) that, for each hour you volunteer, [Employer hidden] is able to deliver 530 meals - which shows the incredible impact you can make each time you volunteer!

When you arrive for your first volunteer shift, we will give you a tour and introduce you to the team and other volunteers you will be with, so that you feel confident and comfortable in the environment you will be volunteering.
