Home visiting volunteer
We require volunteers to visit and support our visually impaired clients in their own home. A maximum of 2 hours per visit. We work across 9 London boroughs (Brent, Barnet, Ealing, Enfield, Harrow, Haringey, Hillingodn, Hounslow and Richmond) We match clients with local volunteers to limit travel time. Volunteers are required to assist with: * Reading/sorting post/correspondence * Assisting with general paperwork/filing/admin tasks. * Companionship * Short walks * Light shopping We match clients and volunteers in their local area. Full training provided. You would not be required to provide any kind of personal or domestic care.
What difference you will make
You would help relieve isolation and loneliness, and support with some essential practical tasks, such as reading mail.
What additional skills or experience you should have
We will require 2 x references and you will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check
What training we will provide for you
Initial Visual Awareness training, as well as access to more general volunteer online training modules
