FULL DESCRIPTION

Vocational Support Volunteer

The vocational service supports clients to access, prepare for and maintain vocational activity (this includes volunteering, education, skills training, and paid employment). We provide 1:1 support including needs assessment, signposting, support with vocational activity searches and applications, interview preparation as well as supporting a person to prepare for and maintain vocational activity (e.g., support with developing routine/structure, time management, increasing levels of self-esteem etc). You’ll work directly with individuals who need guidance and support in all aspects of their vocational journey, including: - Supporting job exploration - Completing job applications - Proofreading CVs, cover letters, and personal statements - Preparing for interviews through mock sessions and coaching - Supporting education and training applications - Encouraging motivation and confidence throughout the process - Supporting clients to navigate emails and other technology We will need a 12 month commitment of at least one day a week.

What additional skills or experience you should have

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • As this role involves administrative tasks, we are looking for someone who is IT literate
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude
  • Experience with job applications, interviews, or recruitment is a bonus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Keen attention to detail – especially when proofreading
