FULL DESCRIPTION

Archive Services Case Worker

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is a small, passionate charity with a big mission: to create sustainable solutions for collaboration and community growth through the promotion of Eastern Europe’s Jewish cultural heritage. Our current research focuses on Jewish Belarus. We are building a living heritage archive of Belarusian Jewish memory, history, and story - past and present - working across the UK and Belarus. A key part of this work is our successful Archive Search Service, which helps people from around the world trace their family histories through records held in Belarusian archives. Individuals commission [Employer hidden] to carry out bespoke archival research, undertaken by our experienced archivists in Belarus, who search for historical family documents and records. We have a friendly, dedicated and connected international team of volunteer caseworkers and we are currently looking to recruit a new member to this wonderful team. Caseworkers manage individual enquiries, acting as the main point of contact between those searching for their family history and our research team in Belarus. They guide enquiries from initial contact through to completion, helping ensure a clear, supportive, and well-organised experience for each client. This service is small but growing quickly. Volunteers with an interest in the charity’s work, Jewish history, genealogy, or cultural heritage will find this role especially rewarding. The Archive Search Service also supports our wider research, including the development of a Jewish Cultural Heritage Trail in Belarus, and forms part of our broader commitment to understanding historic Jewish communities while helping to support communities in Belarus today.

You will help ensure archive records are accurately organised and maintained, supporting effective casework, compliance and continuity of care.
