Library Rhyme Time
Do you love singing, stories, and creating joyful moments for little ones? Childs Hill Library is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead our popular Rhyme Time sessions for babies and toddlers, held every Tuesday from 10:15 to 10:45 am. These lively sessions help young children develop language, rhythm, and confidence, and offer carers a welcoming space to connect with others. If you enjoy music, storytelling, and engaging with families, this could be the perfect role for you!
What You’ll Do:
- Plan and deliver fun, engaging Rhyme Time sessions for babies and toddlers.
- Lead nursery rhymes with confidence and enthusiasm, helping families join in.
- Use props creatively to support songs and capture children’s attention.
- Encourage active participation from both children and their carers/guardians.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and safe environment for all attending families.
- Finish each session with a short, age-appropriate story.

By volunteering as a Rhyme Time Leader, you will help create a warm, engaging, and educational space for babies, toddlers, and their carers. Your sessions will support early language development, spark a love of stories and reading, and help families feel more connected to their local community. Your energy and presence will turn each weekly session into a positive, memorable experience, one that encourages little ones to build confidence, develop key communication skills, and enjoy spending time in the library. At the same time, you’ll help carers feel welcomed, supported, and part of a friendly network.

There will be online training modules to complete, as well as an induction and support from the library manager
