The Project Manager key roles and responsibilities encompass project initiation through to close including delegating tasks, monitoring progress, budgeting, ensuring coordination among team members and collaboration. They provide day-to-day management of internal or client facing projects, workstreams and tasks.
Responsibilities / Objectives
- Facilitating projects from initiation to completion, including supporting through quoting and engagement with potential clients.
- Responsible for managing projects independently or with support from more senior team members. Projects will consist of a number of deliverables and workstreams and will require client and supplier interaction.
- Responsible for delivering projects within scope, on time and within budget
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Technical Project Leads (TPLs), the project teams and internal / external stakeholders.
- Clear and accurate communication of project progress, risks and issues to the TPLs and stakeholders.
- Client facing as the main point of contact with clients representing [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk].
Key tasks
- Support or lead internal projects involving internal stakeholders.
- Management of a project team with the potential to involve some external suppliers / clients.
- Creating and maintaining an overall project management plan (PMP) including timelines, responsibilities (RACI) matrix and risk management plan.
- Define project work breakdown structures and coordinate key activities between the project team.
- Coordinating and leading planning sessions for project development and execution
- Defining project objectives and scope, identifying involvement of internal and external stakeholders.
- Control of finance budget for each project including regular reporting and addressing deviations.
- Tracking progress, reporting on project outputs and communicating with management, clients and other stakeholders.
- Conduct risk analysis to reduce unforeseen obstacles and costs.
- Manage decisions and changes in accordance with correct processes and industry best practices.
- Deal with project issues promptly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
- Manage client and other stakeholder expectations to maintain productive and engaged relationships.
- Compiling and submitting project status reports to clients, management and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for managing projects by exception in line with [Employer hidden] project management process.
- Set-up and manage project calls, providing clear agendas and promptly providing meeting minutes, actions and timelines.
- Manage the time spend on activities to ensure that the estimated time is line with the budget set.
- Conduct project closure including final finance summaries and appropriate lessons learnt activities.
- Engage in continual learning to remain abreast of industry best practices, new technologies and emerging standards.
- Any other duties as required to fulfil business goals.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Graduate of a Scientific or related subject area – preferred Project Management qualification – preferred Minimum of 2 years consistent experience in client facing project management.

Salary and benefits
Salary £30,000-40,000 based on experience.
[Employer hidden] Day Option of a fixed day off every 2 or 3 weeks through salary sacrifice (full time only)
Holidays 25 days per annum, plus option to purchase up to 1 weeks additional holiday through salary sacrifice
