Highways Supervisor
My Client is one of the leading Highway Term Maintenance providers in the UK, with an enviable track record of cost effective solutions and operational delivery which has led to a number of recently awarded TMCs across the South of England. They are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join their Highways team to help deliver major schemes & frameworks.

  • To support the senior supervisor or contract manager before work commences by reviewing workloads, supporting the allocation of resources and carrying out site visits where required.
  • To assist the quantity surveyor with the estimating of schemes when required.
  • To write Health and Safety plans, method statements, risk assessment and site packs ensuring that all works have the appropriate documentation.
  • To ensure works are fully permitted before implementation.
  • To write site specific programmes and update them as required.
  • To raise technical queries and ensure their resolution, ensuring all relevant information is shared with the commercial team.
  • To ensure the smooth running of works through regular liaison with the client, employees and sub contractors.
  • To order plant and materials to support the smooth running of the works programme.
  • To ensure that the highest level of health and safety is always maintained .
  • To monitor and ensure that the highest levels of quality and workmanship are maintained.
  • To monitor and maintain records of plant, labour and materials together with works additional to the programme.
  • To monitor time keeping and measure for wages when required.
  • To ensure timesheets are submitted in a timely manner to the senior supervisor.
  • To monitor works and liaise with the quantity surveyor to ensure accurate submission of monthly valuations and final accounts on completion of the works.
  • To ensure that all works (including snagging) are completed to both a timely and a satisfactory standard, including liaising with the client.
  • To collate information for Health and Safety files or O and M manuals.
  • To ensure that works are complete according to customer and company standards, removing all plant and materials once the work is complete.
  • To undertake other duties and ad hoc projects as required.
