Part-time Finance Assistant: Job description

Job Title: Finance Assistant
Salary: £14.36 per hour (8 hours a week)
Location: Flexible working, at least one morning in the office at St Matthew’s Oxford

About the Role:
We are seeking a part-time finance assistant to join the admin team at [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk]. The successful candidate will manage the financial records for both churches in the parish, using Quickbooks software. They will work closely with the Parish Administrator and the Treasury Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to the life of the churches and local community while enjoying some flexibility in working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions for the churches
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records
  • Oversee cash flow management and bank reconciliations
  • Monitor and control accounts receivable
  • Manage the financial transactions for the lettings of St Matthew's Parish Centre
  • Maintain filing and record-keeping systems for financial documents
  • Provide monthly financial reports and analysis as required by the PCC treasurer
  • Provide admin support as required for the Parish Administrator

Skill Requirements:

NB Training will be provided.

Person Specification

  • You will be someone who can demonstrate support for the work of Christian mission within the Church of England and share the values of the Christian faith.
  • You will need to be someone who can work independently and remotely as well as part of a team.
  • You will be able to communicate clearly and frequently with paid and voluntary staff.
  • You will need to have attention to detail and be prepared to work flexibly.
  • You will be required to work with honesty, discretion and confidentiality.
