NURSERY COOK – COWBRIDGE

The role involves creating nutritious meals for children, managing kitchen hygiene, and adhering to HACAP procedures. Candidates must have experience in the care sector, particularly in nurseries or care homes, and be proficient in batch cooking. The position offers full-time hours with no weekend work.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced cook to join our nursery kitchen in our COWBRIDGE  nursery.

The successful candidate will be committed and passionate about creating nutritious and balanced meals for our little ones whilst being able to juggling a busy kitchen.

*Successful candidates will have worked within the care sector in a nursery or care home and are used to batch cooking large quantities. Those without this experience will not be considered.*

Individuals will be responsible for good cleaning a hygiene levels, whilst following HACAP procedures set out and menus rotated on a 4 weekly basis. Dealing with environmental health visits will be part of the job role as well as maintaining our level 5 score in your kitchen. The position is for a cook to work alone in the kitchen therefore you would have sole responsibility for the kitchen and everything in it.

A sound knowledge of allergy food groups and how to create dishes minus food allergens if needed is essential. A good standard of written English is essential to complete the required paperwork.

This is a full time position between the hours of 8.30-5 Monday – Friday with no weekend or evening work.

This position is within a smaller setting so would be catering for up to 110 children and babies with different dietary needs.

Candidates should hold a current food hygiene certificate and will subject to an enhanced DBS check.
