Contract: Full-time (or Pro Rata for part-time hours), flexible 5-day rota including Saturdays

Salary: £23,303 per annum (Pro Rata for part-time hours)

Location: Various St Luke’s Shops around Harrow and Brent

Closing Date: on a rolling basis

Job Purpose and Scope

To support the Shop Manager in achieving business objectives and ensure the shop continues to run effectively in their absence.

Main Duties

  • Be responsible for the overall management of the shop in the Manager’s absence.
  • Hold a key to the shop premises during the Manager’s absence.
  • Open and close the shop, ensuring that the advertised trading hours are adhered to.
  • Ensure that the shop premises are clean and tidy and that Health and Safety regulations are observed.
  • Encourage and accept donated goods for sale.
  • Sort and prepare goods for sale, and oversee a pricing policy for the shop.
  • Be accountable for all monies in the shop, responsible for banking takings, completing weekly returns, managing petty cash, and maintaining other required records.
  • Keep shop equipment and stationery requirements under review.
  • Effectively attract, recruit, train, develop, and review volunteers in accordance with [Employer hidden] Shops policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of shop volunteers and oversee the volunteer rota, ensuring sufficient cover when volunteers are unavailable.
  • Ensure the best possible presentation and display of goods for sale.
  • Attend staff meetings when required.
  • Be prepared to work in other St Luke’s charity shop outlets if required.
  • Assist in other duties as they arise.

Training

Full training will be provided in all aspects of shop management and operations.

Attendance at training sessions elsewhere may occasionally be required.

  • Good administrative skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in retail.
