Job Description
As a Paediatric Nurse (Band 5), you will be working as part of the hospital’s paediatric team to provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to infants, children and adolescents. You will be supporting patients with a wide range of medical conditions on the ward, working closely with parents, families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver safe, effective nursing care to children and young people
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in a timely manner
• Administer medications, IV fluids and other treatments as prescribed
• Support children and families emotionally and communicate clearly with parents
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Collaborate with paediatric consultants, therapists and support staff
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and infection control standards are followed
Ideal Candidate:
• Minimum 6 months of recent NHS experience in a paediatric ward setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and families
• Confident working in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Calm, compassionate and organised
• Flexible and able to commit to regular shift patterns

• Valid NMC registration as a Paediatric RGN
• A minimum of 6 months' recent experience in an NHS
• Enhanced DBS certificate (on update service or willing to apply)
• Updated mandatory training
• Right to work in the UK
