Job Description

As a Locum ITU Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to critically ill patients within the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU). You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the continuous monitoring and treatment of patients who require advanced life support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating nursing care to ITU patients
• Monitoring vital signs and managing ventilated patients
• Administering IV drugs, infusions and blood products in line with local protocols
• Using advanced equipment for patient monitoring and intervention
• Working collaboratively with doctors, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Ensuring compliance with infection control, safeguarding and data protection standards
Ideal Candidate:
• Strong ITU background within the NHS (minimum 6 months recent experience)
• Confident in working in high-pressure, critical care settings
• Skilled in using advanced medical equipment and ventilators
• Excellent communication, decision-making and teamworking skills
• Calm under pressure with a compassionate approach to care

Requirements

• Valid NMC registration
• A minimum of 6 months' recent experience in an NHS
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
• Up-to-date Mandatory training
