Job Description

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality emergency care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute and life-threatening conditions. You will be working in a busy A&E department and expected to: • Undertake rapid assessments of incoming patients, prioritising based on clinical need. • Provide immediate nursing care in line with current protocols and national clinical guidelines. • Administer intravenous medications and fluids and monitor response. • Operate clinical equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and oxygen therapy systems. • Support and educate patients and their families during stressful situations with empathy and professionalism. • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring clear communication and coordination of care. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic systems. • Escalate deteriorating patients promptly and participate in emergency resuscitation procedures. • Adhere to infection control standards and contribute to the safe running of the emergency department.

Requirements

  • Valid NMC registration (UK PIN).
  • A minimum of 6 months' recent experience in an NHS A&E or critical care environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply
  • Proof of immunisations, and up-to-date Mandatory training.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high demand setting.
  • Excellent clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
