Job Description
As a Locum Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in the delivery of specialist care for patients undergoing cancer treatments. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe and effective administration of therapies while offering critical emotional support to patients and families.
Duties will include:
• Administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other anti-cancer treatments in line with local and national protocols
• Monitoring patient conditions and managing side effects or complications
• Providing pre- and post-treatment education and counselling
• Coordinating with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care plans
• Ensuring meticulous documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and care outcomes
• Maintaining infection control and adhering to best practices in cancer care nursing
Requirements
• NMC Registered Nurse with a valid and active PIN
• Minimum 06 months UK experience in an oncology setting
• SACT certification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
• Excellent communication, clinical judgement, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team in high-pressure environments
• Right to work in UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply
