We are seeking an experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner (Orthopaedics) to join a well-established private hospital in London on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-quality, patient-focused theatre environment, supporting both elective and trauma orthopaedic lists and delivering care to exceptional clinical standards.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner (Orthopaedics) to join a well-established private hospital in London on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-quality, patient-focused theatre environment, supporting both elective and trauma orthopaedic lists and delivering care to exceptional clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled scrub support for a range of orthopaedic procedures, including elective and trauma cases
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields in line with infection prevention and theatre protocols
  • Ensure the correct preparation, handling and availability of instruments, implants and equipment
  • Carry out and document swab, needle and instrument counts accurately
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider theatre team to ensure smooth lists and optimal patient outcomes

Requirements

Requirements

  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner or NMC-registered Nurse
  • Proven experience as a Theatre Scrub Practitioner with strong orthopaedic expertise
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply
  • Evidence of required immunisations in line with current standards
  • Up-to-date Mandatory Training
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a high-demand theatre setting
  • Excellent clinical judgement and confident decision-making skills
  • Right to work in the UK
