[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is currently seeking highly skilled and dedicated Band 6 Registered Nurses with specialist experience in Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) to take on flexible locum shifts at a prominent NHS hospital in East London.

Job Description

As a Band 6 PICU Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-level nursing care to critically ill infants and children requiring intensive treatment and close monitoring. You will be responsible for managing complex clinical situations, supervising junior staff, and working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Administer and manage life-saving treatments, medications, and interventions • Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to deteriorating conditions appropriately • Liaise effectively with consultants, families, and allied health professionals • Ensure documentation and care plans are accurate, timely, and in line with NHS guidelines • Maintain a safe and supportive environment that prioritises patient dignity and wellbeing

Requirements

• Registered Children’s Nurse with valid NMC registration (Band 6). • Minimum 6 months recent PICU experience in an NHS or equivalent setting. • Paediatric certification desirable. • Strong leadership, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply. • Up-to-Date Mandatory Trainings CSTF aligned with Pead’s Basic life support. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Right to Work in the UK.
