Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Enfield, North London

Start: September 2025

Hours: 830am – 4pm, Monday to Friday

Duration: End of Academic Year, July 2026

Pay Rate: £105 per day (minimum)

Teaching Assistant Overview:

We are seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join the SEND department at this Ofsted Outstanding Secondary School. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the diverse needs of students within the SEND department. Contributing to their overall academic progress and well-being. Working closely with other support staff and experienced SLT, you will have the opportunity for continuous professional development and career growth. Many teaching assistants within the school are encouraged to run an after school club once a week; This has been incredibly successful with the students  (DJ Club, Spanish, Architecture, Ballet, Football, Writing, etc). You can bring your hobbies to life!

Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Assisting in the preparation of teaching materials, such as lesson plans, worksheets, and visual aids.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help understanding the material
  • Supervising students during class, ensuring they stay on task and behave appropriately.
  • Supporting students with SEN and differentiating your instruction
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement instructional strategies that meet the needs of all students.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive learning community.

Qualifications for a Teaching Assistant:

  • University Degree is favorable but not desired
  • Strong GCSE/A Level results
  • Safeguarding training (we can support with this)
  • SEND experience is desirable
  • Working with secondary students is desirable

Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Right to work in the UK with no need for current or future sponsorship
  • 2 professional references within the last two years
  • Available FULL-TIME Monday to Friday until the end of the academic year
  • Flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm
  • Strong proficiency in English Language
  • Overseas police check – should you have travelled 6+ months in the last 5 years
