HR Manager (Fixed-Term Contract: Jan–May 2026)

Full-time | Office-based | Central London

We are seeking a highly skilled and confident HR Manager to join a specialist independent school that provides exceptional support for children with specific learning difficulties. Known for its nurturing, child-centred ethos and commitment to helping pupils thrive through personalised teaching, the school is looking for a strong HR professional to ensure smooth and effective people operations during a period of planned leave.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You will lead the full HR function, ensuring high-quality service and compliance across the school, including:

  • End-to-end recruitment and onboarding
  • Producing HR/People reports for governance committees
  • Minute-taking at committees related to HR/People
  • Payroll processing and day-to-day staff queries
  • Conducting investigations and advising on employee relations
  • Updating and maintaining policies and compliance documentation
  • Keeping the HR information system current (CIPHR experience desirable)
  • Managing training distribution and monitoring
  • Overseeing safeguarding compliance, including the Single Central Record
  • Supporting wider ad hoc HR projects as required

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you must have:

  • Significant HR experience within a school setting
  • Strong understanding of school HR compliance, safeguarding and SCR
  • Experience handling payroll and HR administration end-to-end
  • Ideally a CIPD qualification
  • Experience with CIPHR MIS and payroll systems (highly preferred)
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, on-site, Central London
