Role: Year 2 Primary Teacher

The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 2 Class Teacher for a long-term position beginning in September 2025 and running through to July 2026.
Role: Year 2 Primary Teacher
Start Date: September 2025
End Date: July 2026 (39-week, term-time only contract)
Salary: £38,766 – £50,288 per annum – *Outer London Pay Scale*
Location: Merton – South-West London
[Employer hidden] is working in partnership with a vibrant, 3-form entry Primary School in Merton, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 2 Class Teacher for a long-term position beginning in September 2025 and running through to July 2026.
This is a Key Stage 1 role, and candidates must have prior experience teaching in Year 1. The role is not suitable for ECTs, as the school is specifically seeking a confident practitioner who can hit the ground running and support pupils with the foundational learning needed for the transition from Year 1 to Year 2.
As a Primary Teacher, responsibilities will include:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Tracking pupil progress and preparing assessments and reports
- Supporting children’s development both academically and socially
- Collaborating with staff, parents, and external agencies where required
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Proven experience teaching in Year 1 and/or Year 2
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
- Experience working with pupils with SEND and EHCPs is desirable
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Committed, reliable, and passionate about early years education
