Cover Supervisor (Secondary School) – Enfield

- Position: Cover Supervisor - Location: Enfield, London - Start Date: April - Day Rate: £110 – £115 - Contract Type: Full-Time, Long Term

We are seeking a highly motivated and academic Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team in Enfield. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, with a a minimum of a bachelors 2:1 degree. It is highly desirable if you have a Master’s degree, and experience teaching secondary school students. A teaching qualification is highly beneficial but not essential. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of lessons and supporting students in their academic progress. You must have strong curriculum knowledge and classroom management skills.

Key Responsibilities: Cover Supervisor

• Supervise and manage students across a variety of subjects during the absence of their regular teacher.
• Maintain a productive learning environment by following lesson plans, ensuring students remain engaged, and supporting their academic needs.
• Assist with classroom activities, ensuring discipline is maintained and that students meet their educational targets.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and classroom management.
• Support the development and delivery of curriculum content where applicable.
• Help implement and maintain school policies, including those on safeguarding and student welfare.

Essential Requirements: Cover Supervisor

• A bachelor’s degree 2:1 minimum in a relevant academic field.
• Previous experience working with secondary school students, preferably within a teaching or supervisory capacity.
• Strong curriculum knowledge across a range of subjects (specialist knowledge in any subject area is an advantage).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, confident approach to managing and motivating students.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments.
• A passion for supporting students’ educational development.

Desirable:

• A masters degree.
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role.
• Experience working in a secondary school environment.
