Music Teacher and Leader (Pre-Prep Nursery to Year 8)
We are seeking an inspiring, passionate, and skilled Music Teacher and Leader to join our outstanding independent school in Kent. Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Lead engaging music lessons for all ages, from rising 3s to Year 8.
- Director of Music: Oversee a talented team of 11 peripatetic music teachers, ensuring cohesive and inspiring instruction.
- Performance: Direct choirs and orchestras and support pupils for school concerts, the Carol Service, and school productions in collaboration with the drama department.
- To enter the choirs, musical groups and pupils into the music festivals such as Sevenoaks Three Arts, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells & Hastings as required, Associated Board music exams each term accompanying pupils where necessary, and to encourage pupils to attend music courses where relevant

About You:
- A qualified music teacher and/or leader with significant experience in teaching music across all age groups.
- Must hold QTS and relevant Honours Degree in Music, or related field
- Hold an understanding of the Kent 11+ system and public school examination systems, including scholarship examinations
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage the music department effectively.
- A passion for nurturing musical talent, from the very youngest learners to more advanced musicians.
- Experience in leading school choirs and orchestras is highly desirable.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work closely with the drama department and contribute to exciting school productions.
