FULL DESCRIPTION

ROLE: SEN Teaching Assistant

HOURS: Monday to Friday

CONTRACT: 1 Year Contract

SALARY: £500 per week

START: September 2024

LOCATION: London Borough of Hackney, East London

Job title: SEN Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant

Age range: 10- 11 year-olds (Child is in Year 6)

Location: Near Stoke Newington, Hackney, East London

School:Primary School with a great reputation within its local community

Salary: Earn £500 per week with a further increase after 12 working weeks

Job type: Full-Time, term time only for the entire academic year. Starting date: Interview and start WC 2nd September (Notice periods cannot be accepted) accepted)

Qualifications: Degree holder with an interest in teaching or building an SEN/Mental Health related career

The Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant

A wonderful primary school based near the vibrant Stoke Newington area of Hackney, East London

Full-time role (Monday to Friday), term time only until July 2025

Work with an experienced and respected teacher who will mentor and guide you.

Support a Year 6 boy with Autism. He can be anxious with no severe behavioural issues – this is more of a role to help with emotional regulation and encourage participation

Perfect for aspiring teachers and psychologists alike – develop your practical understanding of how children learn and the strategies that come with that.

London overground stations close by aswell as plenty of buses that connect to them to neighbouring boroughs

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must:

  • Be confident, adaptable with lots of enthusiasm to get the best out of the pupil.
  • Be confident in core areas of the curriculum such as Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Be a degree holder.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a large team.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Be able to inspire and motivate children in the classroom
