Mental Health Support Worker Teaching Assistant | £110 rising to £124 per day | Temp to Perm | £24,500 | September start | Near Balham | Wandsworth Secondary school | Temp to perm Mental Health Support Worker

As their Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible under the instruction of guidance of the teacher or SENCO to undertake work, care or support programmes to individual pupils or to work with groups, including more in-depth support for those with Mental Health and additional learning needs.

Overview:

  • September start
  • Temp to perm after 2 terms – salary between £23.5 and £24.5K
  • Starting rate of £110 rising to £124 after 12 working weeks
  • Working hours: 8am – 4pm
  • As their Mental Health Support Worker, a snapshot of some of your duties will be to:
  • Liaise with Mental Health therapists/counsellors, internally and externally
  • Liaise with SENCO to plan, undertake and monitor interventions specifically helping students with mental health needs.
  • Carry out baseline and interim assessments to be able to assess the impact of interventions
  • Support whole school initiatives on mental health strategies including supporting in the delivery of mental health training for staff.
  • Support staff to resolve issues with students with mental health needs
