Primary Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering engaging and effective classroom instruction
  • Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Run literacy and numeracy interventions to boost student achievement
  • Produce inspiring and creative classroom displays
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to the overall development and wellbeing of students
  • Supervise outside the classroom during playtime, lunch and school trips

Primary TA – What You Ideally Need to have:

  • A recent 2:1 or above degree in any STEM subject, or Psychology
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Tutor
  • Experience in running literacy and/or numeracy interventions
  • Experience collaborating with a team of teachers and parents
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills and the ability to successfully communicate with parents/families
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience working with SEND students
  • Aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
