About the Art Teacher Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Art at KS3 and KS4 to students who require tailored and supportive education. Many students have faced significant challenges, including exclusions from mainstream schools, SEMH needs, or complex personal circumstances. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships, motivate disengaged learners, and create a nurturing but structured classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Art Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and therapeutic Art lessons tailored to students’ needs.
  • Reignite a passion for learning in students who have had negative experiences with education.
  • Support students’ personal development and well-being through Art.
  • Implement a Trauma-Informed approach, helping students regulate emotions and behaviour.
  • Work closely with pastoral teams and support staff to provide a holistic approach to learning.
  • Adapt lessons to accommodate SEMH needs and students with additional learning requirements.
  • Maintain high expectations for progress and behaviour, while demonstrating patience and empathy.

About the Successful Art Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Art at KS3 and KS4 in a mainstream or alternative provision setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour management strategies.
  • The ability to connect with disengaged students and inspire them through creative expression.
  • A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • A team player, eager to contribute to a supportive and nurturing school environment.
  • A sense of humour and a fresh-start mentality, understanding the challenges these students face.
  • Must be local to Enfield or within a reasonable commute.
  • No sponsorship available – candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Why Apply for the Art Teacher Role:

  • Work in a purpose-built, well-resourced PRU with a supportive and forward-thinking team.
  • Make a real difference in the lives of students who need structure, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Benefit from ongoing CPD, training, and career development opportunities.
  • Join a school that values creativity, emotional well-being, and personalised learning approaches.
  • Be part of a dedicated team that believes in second chances and building positive futures.

This is a highly rewarding role for an Art Teacher who wants to use their creativity to positively impact students’ lives. If you are passionate about inclusion, engagement, and making a difference, apply today to be considered.
