Job title: ASD Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS)

Age Grade: Early Years (work across both Nursery and Reception)

Location: Brixton, Lambeth, South London

School:Successful Primary School with a strong rating by Ofsted

Salary: £90 per day

Job type: Full-Time until July 2024 Starting date: September

Qualifications: Degree holder (Ideally EYFS focused) or relevant CACHE qualification

WhoFoundWho are working in partnership with a highly regarded primary school situated in the Bustling Brixton area of Lambeth, South Central London.

This ASD Teaching Assistant role is to interview and start in September when the school re-opens for the new academic year. Therefore at that time, you must not have a notice period.

The school we are representing are seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual that is looking to develop their skillset in an Early Years setting.

The role of an ASD Teaching Assistant is to support their EYFS children across Nursery and Reception. The role would be supporting targeted children, setting up activities for them, delivering interventions and supervising them. It is a SEN specific role where some children access their Autism Resource base, so there may be occasions when you will support them in the resource base, and then model the same interventions back in the classroom.

The Opportunity: ASD Teaching Assistant

- A well-run and resourced primary school based in Brixton, Lambeth, South London

- Full-time role from September (Monday to Friday) until the end of the academic year (July 2024)

- Rate of pay: £90 per day

- September 2023

- Working hours 8.30am – 4pm

- Work across the EYFS phase with 4- 5 year olds

The successful graduate must:

  • Have SEN experience
  • Knowledge of how to set up activities and workstations for SEN pupils and have strategies in place to manage them
  • Have good GCSE’s/A Levels in English or Maths (preferred but not essential) or be a degree holder
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a large team
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be able to inspire and motivate children in the classroom
  • Be able to deliver well-structured lessons for small groups/1:1 session
