We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Knotter / Twister to join our Twisting Department at Stanley Mills. This role is key to ensuring the preparation, of warps to the highest standards, supporting the weaving process across the mill.

Position: Full Time
Hours of Work: Split Shifts – 40 hours per week (Rotating)
Salary Range: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum depending on experience
Travel Required: No

Training:  We are willing to train candidates who have experience in other textile areas.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Knotter / Twister to join our Twisting Department at Stanley Mills. This role is key to ensuring the preparation, of warps to the highest standards, supporting the weaving process across the mill.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Knotting & Loom Preparation

  • Prepare and knot-on warps for felled looms, ensuring all ticket and loom specifications are met and compatible for weaving
  • Draw in jacquards and selvedges during gear changes
  • Tie on jacquard and selvedge bobbins in looms as required
  • Knot and rebeam warps using the rebeamer as workload demands
  • Draw through warps in looms where previously knotted in the rebeamer

Cross-Department Support

  • Assist in the healding department when required
  • Support the weaving department during periods of high workload

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe working environment through strict adherence to company health and safety procedures
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping
  • Check all fitted safety devices daily before starting work
  • Use all issued PPE correctly at all times

Shift Pattern

Rotating Shift Pattern:

- Week 1 (40 hours):
Monday – Friday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Week 2 (40 hours):
Monday – Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Friday: 11:30am – 7:30pm

Skills & Attributes Preferred

  • Keen eye for detail and quality
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good concentration and awareness in a machinery-based environment
  • Previous textile, knotting, or twisting experience desirable but not essential
