Project Engineer Manufacturing and Engineering Services

Established engineering firm who specialise in the design, manufacture, protection and site installation of process plant equipment are seeking an experienced Project Engineer Manufacturing and Engineering Services to join the team in Worcestershire.

As a Project Engineer Manufacturing and Engineering Services, your core role & responsibilities will entail:

  • The management and control of orders received from customers ranging from supply only to turnkey contracts consisting of design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
  • Administration of the site project work areas ensuring at all times that these areas are kept in an efficient and controlled fashion.
  • Carryout design activities using a variety of CAD software and producing information for manufacturing purposes (AutoCAD & Solidworks).
  • Working with Production Manager & Stores personnel to ensure correct plant is available for forthcoming projects
  • Review material usages on contracts assisting in ensuring that materials are readily available in line with contractual requirements to fulfil the Companies contractual obligations. Procure materials that meet the project specification, quantity, and price.
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of materials, minimising scrap, and waste through design.
  • The production of requisitions for materials and services associated with the material requirements for the manufacture of products.
  • Review efficiency of site and manufacturing operations to ensure Quality, Cost and Delivery schedules are met.

Expertise & Fit

  • Proven project and technical experience, ideally with similar size organisation
  • Likely to be a Project and Technical Engineer or equivalent from an engineering fabrication company – ideally, experience of fitting / servicing equipment
  • Someone with mechanical understanding and solid manufacturing industry knowledge, that is able to talk knowledgably and credibly with staff and the target customer base
  • Understanding of site services, able to be out there with customers and advising accordingly as well as back at site
  • Culturally, a strong fit with the size of business and nature of the environment
