Role Overview

As a Practice Accountant at TaxMate, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, delivering comprehensive accounting services, and providing expert financial advice. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and help them achieve their financial goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of clients, ensuring their accounting needs are met with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct tax planning and prepare tax returns for clients, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and guidance to clients, helping them optimize their financial performance.
  • Utilize the TaxMate App and other accounting software to streamline processes and enhance client services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Liaise with clients regularly to understand their business needs and provide tailored accounting solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • AAT Level 4, ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting practice, preferably with small businesses and self-employed clients.
  • Proficient in accounting software and tools - experience with Xero is beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
