Role Overview

Commissioning Engineer / Foreman to lead the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of a wide range of conveyor systems at customer sites. The successful candidate will take a foreman role, leading on-site teams, coordinating with electrical engineers, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation teams on mechanical works for conveyor systems of all types.
  • Oversee final commissioning, testing, and handover of projects.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and project teams during installation and commissioning.
  • Ensure safe and efficient execution of on-site works, including alignment, adjustments, and performance verification.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and site staff.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, site documentation, and handover materials.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in the conveyor, materials handling, or related mechanical engineering industry.
  • Strong mechanical skills with the ability to read engineering drawings and follow installation specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading installation teams and managing final commissioning of conveyor or industrial systems.
  • Practical experience installing and setting up mechanical equipment on customer sites.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting commissioning of automated or industrial machinery (with electrical support teams).
  • Exposure to large-scale installation projects or international work.
  • Relevant mechanical or engineering qualification.
